watercolor Practice
1) Learning how to work with layers and doing the shadows of each shape.
2) This is a color chart showing the different values from light to dark.

Watercolor peaches
1) I was testing out the colors and bending with my colors on the fruit. I learned how to layer with my light colors first and then work my way to my darker colors. Learning how to use different watercolor painting techniques.
2) (Left to Right) Cool Colors, WaterColor and Traditional Pencils, Warm Colors (Salt), and Monochromatic.

Final watercolor PAinting
- One watercolor technique that worked well for me was dry brushing. I used this technique for my grass which gave it it's texture and the effect of the light reflection from the sun. Another technique that worked well for me was the wet on wet. I used this for the majority of my painting, from the sky to the fading colors of my rocks. Since the sky in the original picture was kinda tricky to get, I did wet on wet to give it that sort of effect of the clouds. For my rocks to get the reflection from the sun I used a light shade of gray and worked my way down to a dark gray to show shadows as well.
- It's important to use transparent layers in watercolor paintings, because you can better control your colors and it's a lot better to go from light to dark when using watercolor paints.
- I believe my composition was successful, because it has that feeling that your standing right in for of this scenery. Giving that feeling that you're really there. I think my portions could've been a lot better when it came down to drawing the whole thing out.
- Color choice was definitely an important factor for the overall painting, because watercolor is suppose to be kinda a soft painting versus acrylic painting that's such bold colors. So using my soft blues and grays helped give that effect and then my bold grass contrasted with it, which I loved.
- I think I did very well with this project. I used my time very well with having everything planned out, knowing which part of the painting I was going to do each day to make sure I got it done on the due date. I've improved a lot for this being my third time with watercolor paints and made sure I didn't rush. I've learned rushing with watercolor will result in a lot of mess ups that could be hard to fix if the dry.
- If I was able to do something different it would be darkening some of the soft colors I used on my big rocks to make them pop a lot more and to show the layers in them.
- I've learned with watercolor is to take my time! I get better results in my paintings when I'm taking my time and to have time management to make sure I get it done on time. This has definitely improved my development in art, so now I know how to be successful in my future projects.
hundertwasser Painting
1. My craftsmanship of this painting was good until it was time to finish it. In the beginning, I was painting very neatly and taking my time. But when it was time to actually to finish, I rushed the rest of my patterns on my air balloons.
2. I think my piece is embodies the artist's style pretty well. My solid colors and the usage of gold and silver really helped pull his style into my work.
3. I thought it would be a good idea to have pastel colors throughout my piece. Having different shades of certain colors makes those areas stand out causing you to look all over the piece.
4. The focal point of this piece is the air balloons. With the balloons, I did different simple patterns to make them stand out against my crazy patterns used in my sky. I wish I could've taken more time on the balloons to make sure they were neat.
5. My patterns really made this piece pop. They make your eyes move all over the piece to get the full affect.
6. I didn't add a border to my piece but I enhanced my work by using such a vibrant color scheme and such thought out patterns in the background.
7. A difficult I had during this piece was coming up with colors to use so i wouldn't repeat but keep the same color scheme. I soon got over that and finally was able to finish up (even though it was way after the due date).

Oil painting practice
1&2- I practiced using oil paints and the techniques of blending with a brush and then using a palette knife. Using a pear as my model in class.
3- This is my unfinished Still Life Photo that I took in class. Using a filter that brightened up the picture. This was suppose to make me comfortable with mixing paints to get the right shades of colors.

texture landscape
1. With this piece, I would just completely start over. It started off strong with the grass and the sky, but after that it just went downhill fast. My portions for the building were off which threw the whole piece thing off.
2. When it came to color choosing, it was really based on what really matched the reference picture the most. The shadow side of the building could've been 10 times lighter considering I made it darker than i needed to.
3. Using the colors in the reference picture helped with putting some contrast into piece. The shadow of the building was a big contrast considering it was so much darker than the rest of the building.
4. I put my texture in the grass and into the mountains in the back. I always focus my texture into the grass because when i think of grass, I just think about running my hands across it. I used different shades of blue to go in my sky instead of doing clouds and for certain shadows in the building I used different shades of the base color.
5. In all honestly I don't think that I have any depth in this piece. This piece was so rushed that it has to be my least favorite from this semester.
6. I believe I did a great job with blending my colors without over blending (mudding). Maybe my color choosing was great from reference picture.
7. I have difficulties with portions when it comes to sketching out buildings, so that would've improved my painting by a lot. Time management would've improved this painting a lot as well.
8. Finishing had to be the most successful thing about this piece. I simply don't enjoy how this went at all.

Pet PORTRAIT
1. With this painting, I went through the stages of liking it and then not liking it. I really think I did a great job with making the right shades of yellow/orange for my little ducky. I didn't really master the technique of doing fur, so to make up for that I did a texture on my ducky with layering the paint.
2. I tried my best to match that values of the duck from the reference picture to get the realistic effect. My shadow under my duck
could use some work with blending.
3. I wanted to keep this project simple and cute. Keeping my background as simple as it can be and really focusing on the details on the animal. My blending and adding texture techniques helped really pull that off.
4. My appreciation for oil paint really growed during this project. The blending quality of oil is so amazing.
5. I think I did a nice job with this painting. The little details went along way for this project. All the details that were added really made this piece pop.

Class reflection
Overall, I liked this class a whole lot. My artistic abilities have really improved in this semester. My attention to detail has really improved when it comes to looking at my reference photos and sketching, I try to include all that I see. Being surrounded with such great artistic helped me really want to push my efforts for my work. Time management is something that I need to learn and it shows in my pieces. Hopefully I will get to learn that lesson for my life in general. Mrs.Rossi pushing me to continue to add things to my paintings really helps me see the next time without having her to tell me. I hope I can continue to work on my art in college to better my skills and have a stress relieving source.
