How To Critique Art
I see the word LOVE being outlined with hearts, that are outlined with colors. I feel as if the hearts and how different they are, show how different everyone is and their love for people are. The way I took it in made it more important than it looks. Others can think it was just something I do or little kids came up with the idea.
Well I did want to use clay but I didn't want to be like everyone else so I decided to make little jewelry trays. I shaped them with my hands making them into different shapes and had little figures on top. For the shiny appearance I used colored glazes. What I had trouble with was clay wet enough to work with. What I found most successful with my piece is that it was easy to make multiple abs have them all different. If I could change something it would be how I did it and the time I spent on them.
When doing this first I did the sketch of what I wanted to do. After that I decided what I wanted to be covered in ink and what I wanted to leave white. After that I transferred my drawing to the rubber, I craved out what I wanted to leave white. I found that you could tell who it was the most successful about my piece.
For my portrait piece I used pages from a book and pasted them on a canvas. First I stretched out the person I was doing twice and then I used acrylic paint to of course paint them. I did the portrait of me because I didn't wanna mess up on a love one.
I choose to do Cinemagraphs because I love to do boomerangs on instagram. Well I did this project with Anthony which was a very risky move lol. We decided to do stuff art related/ in the art class. It took us a while to get a hang of the whole idea behind Cinemagraphs but we eventually got it. What was successful about this was when we got it working correctly it was all smooth sailing. I would change is our theme, it was too inside the box for me but it still got the job done.
Pencil: With pencil drawing to me it more of a sketch. When using a pencil its fine to make an mistake because you can always erase it and continue. Something I find difficult is that it's kinda hard not to press kinda hard on the pencil and making details noticeableCharcoal: With charcoal it's a very easy yet messy medium to me. To me when using it I find it much easier to blend and make shadows. Also I find it easier to make cover up a mistake lol. But I find it difficult to get it the right shades for different things
Pen: With pen drawings I find it easier to draw with pencil first and then come with my pen. The difficult thin about pen is that you can't easier a mistake you made or something you wanna cover up Blog Link: arty-art-art.weebly.com
Background: Nicole started drawing in eight grade and it took her many years to improve her skills. She would be very positive towards everyone doing their art so they encouraged her doing her art so it gave her confidence. Her grandmother was an artist so that also inspired her to be one as well. During her freshman year so was introduced to digital art by her friend and has been in love ever since. The artist that I chose was ROA, and does black and white street art. His work can be seen Portugal, Austria, Canada, the U.K., and here in the United States. When he does art and uses black and white spray paint against semi-bright color walls so his work can stand out. The paints he does are of animals that are endangered by hunting and pollution that we cause. What is inspiring to me is that he does these wonderful pieces of art to show what these certain animals are going through because of us and how we treat the environment. They are a statement to the world like, “Hey these animals are being harmed by our careless decisions and they have done nothing to us.” Here are a couple of his pieces and sadly he doesn’t have a website:
I morphed a cartoon elephant and the solar system lol. I wanted to be different and I absolutely adore baby elephants so of course I had to include it somehow some way. This piece took some time to figure out how I would morph the solar system and a baby elephant blowing bubbles out of its truck but as you can see I made it work just fine. First I drew it on white paper and used color pencils to color everything I wanted and I used a cutter to cut out all the objects and glued it on a black sheet of paper for the background. I think the most successful part of the piece is that it came together well and something I would change would be to make sure it's clear to others on what I morphed together. This is not a every good picture of my most helpful warm up but learning how to use color pencils correctly with shadows and shading helped with my piece.
